What’s New in Teachfloor — August & September 2026
The past few weeks have brought a significant set of improvements across Teachfloor.
We’ve expanded what communities can do, made AI Review more capable, introduced xAPI support, improved certificates, opened more data through our API, and continued making Teachfloor more flexible for custom apps, dashboards, and integrations.
Here’s everything new in Teachfloor since August 1, 2026.
Community Events
Communities can now host events directly inside Teachfloor.
Create one-time events or recurring series for experiences like weekly meetups, office hours, workshops, and community sessions. Individual dates within a recurring series can be edited without affecting the rest of the schedule.
Events also include automatic email reminders, attendance tracking, assigned hosts, timezone-aware scheduling, and Unsplash integration for quickly adding cover images.
This makes it easier to bring scheduled and live experiences directly into the community instead of coordinating them through separate tools.
AI Review Can Now Understand File Attachments
AI Review has become significantly more capable.
Previously, AI Review primarily worked with answers entered directly into Teachfloor. It can now also read and analyze files submitted by learners.
We’ve also improved the quality and depth of feedback generated for written responses, giving learners more useful and detailed guidance on their work.
A More Consistent Assessment Experience
Submissions, reviews, and feedback reflections now share a redesigned and consistent interface.
Whether learners are submitting work, reviewing peers, or reflecting on feedback, the experience now follows the same visual structure and interaction patterns throughout Teachfloor.
xAPI Support
Teachfloor now supports xAPI, the industry standard for recording and exchanging learning activity.
Teachfloor can generate xAPI statements covering activity across courses, modules, learning elements, community channels, and posts.
Organizations can forward these statements to an external Learning Record Store (LRS), while the new xapi.statement.created webhook allows external systems to react to learning activity in real time.
xAPI statements are retained for five years by default, with automatic cleanup afterward.
This gives organizations using broader learning ecosystems much more flexibility to connect Teachfloor activity with their existing learning data infrastructure.
More Powerful Certificate Design
Certificates received one of their biggest upgrades yet.
Organizations now have much greater control over how certificates look, while the generated PDF more accurately reproduces the design shown in the editor—including fonts, spacing, and alignment.
What you design is what learners receive.
Personalize Certificates with Custom Data
Certificates can now dynamically include information stored in Custom Fields.
For example, if your organization collects a learner's:
- License number
- Cohort
- Job title
- Department
- Membership information
that information can automatically appear on their certificate using placeholders.
This makes certificates considerably more useful for professional training, accreditation, compliance programs, and organizations with specific certification requirements.
Public and Private Community Channels
Community channels can now be configured as either public or private.
Public channels are visible across the organization and can be discovered before joining, while private channels are only visible to their members.
We also redesigned the channel join experience to make access rules easier to understand.
For course-based channels, access continues to follow the permissions of the associated course.
A Redesigned Learner Progress Experience
We’ve completely rebuilt the learner-facing course progress page.
The new design makes it easier for learners to understand what they’ve completed, what still needs their attention, and how they performed throughout the course.
The result is a cleaner overview of progress without requiring learners to navigate through individual activities to understand where they stand.
Extension Apps Keep Getting More Powerful
We’ve continued expanding the Teachfloor Apps Platform.
Apps can now explicitly declare which parts of Teachfloor they support, and compatibility is checked before installation.
With the introduction of Community Events, apps can also be placed on event surfaces, opening another area of Teachfloor to custom functionality.
This gives organizations building their own apps—or installing apps from the Marketplace—even more flexibility over where those experiences live inside Teachfloor.
Improved Dashboard Widgets
Custom Dashboards received several improvements.
The Courses widget can now display available courses, rather than being limited to courses a learner is already enrolled in.
Widget configuration options now include short explanations to make dashboard building easier, and widgets have been fully translated.
Together, these changes make Custom Dashboards more useful for both learning navigation and course discovery.
More Data Available Through the Public API
We’ve expanded the Teachfloor Public API with additional member information.
Custom Field values can now be retrieved through the API, allowing external systems to access organization-specific member data.
Course member tags are now available through the API as well.
Together, these additions make it easier to synchronize Teachfloor with CRMs, HR systems, internal databases, reporting tools, and custom integrations.
We’ve also improved Custom Field deletion so associated stored values are automatically cleaned up when a field is removed.
Community Is Now Fully Translated
The entire Community experience is now translated, bringing it in line with the rest of Teachfloor and making it easier to run international learning communities in multiple languages.
Sharper Course Cover Images
Course covers are now generated at a higher resolution.
We’ve also aligned the recommended image dimensions and cropping experience with the actual shape displayed on course cards.
The result is simple: what you crop is what you get, with sharper and more predictable course imagery.
Smarter Member Selection
The person picker used throughout Teachfloor has been improved to make finding and selecting members faster, particularly in organizations with larger member lists.
Change Member Roles Directly from Admin
Administrators can now change a member's role directly from the admin panel.
There's no longer a need for a workaround when someone needs to move between roles such as learner, instructor, or administrator.
Better Visibility Into Email Delivery
Emails sent on behalf of an organization are now logged.
This gives administrators and our support team much better visibility when troubleshooting cases where a learner reports that an invitation, notification, or other email hasn't arrived.
Cleaner Invoices
Invoices with a zero amount are no longer displayed, keeping billing records cleaner and easier to navigate.
Smaller Improvements Across Teachfloor
Alongside the larger releases, we shipped several smaller improvements and fixes.
Locked learning elements now display clearer warnings when they can't be edited. We've resolved issues affecting bulk invitations and organizations using their own email provider, certificate generation, onboarding, duplicated course assessments, Peer Review and AI Review submissions, element descriptions, scheduled automations, Zoom meetings, quizzes, LTI access, and more.
We also added a warning for browsers where Teachfloor's text editor isn't fully supported.

These releases span Teachfloor versions 2.6.0 through 2.20.2, covering customer-facing improvements shipped since August 1.
