Apps on Custom Dashboards

apps dashboard

Custom Dashboards already let you decide what each user sees when they open Teachfloor.

Now we're taking that flexibility much further.

You can add Teachfloor Apps directly to your dashboards as widgets, alongside native components like Courses, Calendar, Achievements, Leaderboard, Analytics, and Metrics.

That means your dashboard is no longer limited to the functionality built into Teachfloor. You can install an app from the Teachfloor Marketplace, or create your own with AI, and make it a permanent part of the workspace your learners, instructors, or administrators use every day.

Turn Apps Into Dashboard Widgets

app

Teachfloor Apps can now expose dedicated dashboard widgets.

Instead of opening an app only when needed from the side drawer, you can place it directly on a Custom Dashboard as an always-visible card.

For example, you could add:

  • Notes, giving users a place to capture and organize notes directly from their dashboard.
  • Office Hours, allowing learners to book a call with an instructor or mentor without leaving Teachfloor.
  • NPS, collecting learner satisfaction and measuring Net Promoter Score directly from the learning experience.
  • Idea Board, giving learners a space to submit ideas, vote on suggestions, and surface the most popular ones.
  • Polls, letting organizations run quick polls and collect responses directly from the dashboard.Apps become part of the dashboard just like native Teachfloor widgets.

Install an App. Add It to Your Dashboard.

You don't have to build anything yourself to get started.

The Teachfloor Marketplace already includes apps that can extend your academy with additional functionality.

Install the apps your organization needs and, when they provide a dashboard widget, add them to the appropriate Custom Dashboard.

For example, a learner dashboard could combine Courses, Calendar, Achievements, and Leaderboard with an Office Hours app for booking mentoring sessions.

An instructor dashboard could combine teaching information with Notes or other tools used as part of your organization's workflow.

The result is a workspace that goes far beyond a traditional LMS homepage.

Build Your Own Dashboard Apps with AI

This is where the combination becomes especially powerful.

You're not limited to the apps available in our Marketplace.

With the Teachfloor Apps Platform, you can build a private app specifically for your organization using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, or OpenAI Codex.

Describe the functionality you need in natural language, use Teachfloor's MCP Server and development tools to help the AI understand and work with the platform, and turn your idea into an app without a traditional development process.

You could ask:

"Build a weekly accountability widget for our learner dashboard. Let each learner set three goals for the week, track their progress, and show instructors which learners are falling behind."

Once built, that app can run privately inside your organization and appear directly on the dashboard.

Your custom functionality becomes part of Teachfloor.

A New Level of LMS Customization

Traditionally, customizing an LMS has meant changing its appearance: logo, colors, domain, navigation, and branding.

Custom Dashboards already expanded that idea by allowing organizations to control layouts and information for different roles.

Apps take it one step further.

You can now customize what your LMS does.

If a specific workflow or tool doesn't exist in Teachfloor, you don't necessarily need to wait for it to appear on our product roadmap. You can build it for your organization and place it exactly where your users need it.

And because Custom Dashboards can be assigned by role, the functionality can appear only to the people who need it.

Learners, instructors, assistants, administrators, and owners can each have completely different workspaces—with different native widgets and different apps.

From Dashboard to Personalized Workspace

A dashboard can now combine three different layers:

Teachfloor features for courses, learning, analytics, events, achievements, and administration.

Marketplace Apps for ready-made functionality you can install and start using.

Your own Custom Apps for workflows and tools unique to your organization.

Together, they turn Custom Dashboards into something closer to a personalized workspace—one that can evolve alongside the way your organization teaches, learns, and operates.
