Scoring Activity

Scoring Activity

We're thrilled to introduce the Scoring Activity, a new feature to help you track and manage learner performance more effectively.

This tool lets instructors assign scores based on multiple course activities, customize the weight of each activity, and set a passing threshold to ensure learners progress in a structured way.

Scoring Activity

How to Get Started with the Scoring Activity

  1. Add Imputs: Select one or more activities from your course to contribute to the score.
  2. Customize  Weight: Assign weights to activities based on their importance
  3. Opt for Flexible Scoring Options: Choose whether incomplete activities are ignored or treated as 0%.
  4. Set Passing Thresholds: Define the minimum score required to complete the activity and move on to the next step

Why the Scoring Activity is a Game Changer

The Scoring Activity offers unmatched flexibility for course design, letting instructors create combined scores that evaluate learner performance across different tasks. It's a powerful tool for structuring learning paths, automating progression, and providing learners with a clear path forward.

  • Automated Learner Progression: Set thresholds for progression to automatically move learners forward based on their performance, saving instructors time.
  • Unlock Content or Certificates: When learners meet specific thresholds, you can automate unlocking lessons or issuing certificates, adding motivation and gamification to your courses.
  • Differentiated Learning Paths: Create tailored learning experiences based on learner performance.

Instructors can now assign scores based on different input activities, allowing for a more comprehensive and accurate evaluation of student progress.

  • Simple Scoring for Certain Activities: Some activities, like live events, content or video, have a binary score (0% or 100%) based on completion.
  • Quality Scoring for Advanced Activities: Activities like quizzes, peer reviews, feedback reflections, and group work use a quality score derived from rubric questions. Each rubric question, such as numeric ratings or text scales, contributes to the overall learner score, enabling detailed feedback and assessment.
